I got an Apple Watch for Christmas (lucky me!) and really wanted to get a special band for it. Previously I had a series 5 watch and never spent more than $15 – $20 on bands. I considered them to be disposable and bought a new one every 9-12 months when they wore out.
However, I felt guilty about the environmental impact of throwing them away every year, so when I got a new watch I decided to get a band that would hopefully last a long time.
I was looking for a white resin band and found several which were inexpensive, but I’m kind of picky. First of all, the metal piece which connects to the watch has to be solid and not a loop. Secondly, I wanted the metal hardware to be black like my new watch.
Enter Machete Italian Acetate Apple Watch bands. They come in fantastic colors, have solid connectors, and are available with silver, rose gold, and most importantly, black hardware.
This is the white band I got. It’s a very cool, stark white and goes with everything. It is well made, sturdy, and elegant.
The orange band is striking and also currently on sale.
And this turquoise band is just lovely.
They also have classic colors like black and tortoise shell if that’s more to your taste. The bands come with enough links for an 8″ wrist (you can buy additional links) as well as the tools you need to add or remove them.
I love my white band. It looks fantastic with my black watch and I feel very chic wearing it 🙂 I also feel good that I won’t need to send it to the landfill in a year. I anticipate wearing this band for many years.
