My Holy Grail Favorite Face Sunscreen

Using face sunscreen is a total game-changer for your skincare routine. Not only does it protect your lovely face from the harsh sun’s rays, preventing sunburn and age spots, but it’s also like a secret anti-aging weapon. Think of it as your daily shield against fine lines and wrinkles. Plus, it keeps your skin looking youthful and radiant for years to come. So, whether you’re hitting the beach or just running errands, slap on that sunscreen – your future self will thank you for the glowy, wrinkle-free skin!

I’ve tried Supergoop Mattescreen and Unseen sunscreens, various Neutrogena sunscreens, FrezyDerm Velvet, and many others, but I’ve never found a face sunscreen as luxurious as Murad’s City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA++++. It’s a ridiculously long name to describe a perfect product.

What it is: A 100 percent mineral, indoor and outdoor SPF that shields against digital blue-light damage and UVA and UVB pollution.

Skin Type: Normal, Dry, Combination, and Oily

Skincare Concerns: Dullness

Formulation: Lightweight Lotion

It goes on as a medium-thin lotion, but it won’t drip off your face. It doesn’t drag across your skin and has a barely perceptible pleasant scent. The pale pink melts into your skin with no white cast or ashyness. (I feel like it would work well on darker skin, but I haven’t tested that theory.)

For such a high SPF, it feels great when I apply it, and it doesn’t melt off my face during the day. It is a liquid, but it is thick enough that it won’t drip through your fingers – I hate that! It moisturizes my skin, absorbs nicely, and leaves a glow – it doesn’t shine at all though. I don’t like a shiny face, so this is perfect for me.

You can get it at Ulta, Sephora, direct from Murad, and elsewhere. (Murad is having a 20% off sale right now if you sign up for their newsletter.) It’s pricey, but since it is only for faces, it lasts quite a while. Recommended!
